Majken O. Horton

she/her/hers
Bio

As a recent graduate from UC Davis, Majken is interested in exploring boundaries and crossovers of western science and culture where tea and other traditional drinks provide opportunities for these typically opposing disciplinaries to enter dialogs. She is interested in both the biological aspects of the importance of tea in health and ecosystems and also the cultural importance a variety of teas play in land connectedness as society continues to distance itself from food and land. Currently a Junior Specialist at the Genome Center, she studies fungal resistance across different mint species.
